Always a Socialist I grew up in a home where politics were never discussed, hence I had absolutely no idea what was going on.

What I did have was a very well developed sense of fair play and an idea that 'some' people were far more 'equal' then others.

Life taught me that whilst we can't make people equal, we can give them the same 'hances.' What they do with those 'chance' is down to them.

I also grasped the fact that a society or nation can and should be judged be judged on the way they treat their weakest and most vulnerable members. We in the UK fall very short, when this measure is applied.

Socialism in my mind,seems the only means by which society should organised and managed by a Socialist philosphy.

Socialism should not and cannot be imposed... it must be embraced as a way forward by the majority of citizens.

We also need to develop a new Socialism that takes into account global market places, where international corporations hav a greater income, then the GDP of some small nations.

Why do we constantly need to strive for economic growth? Socialism embraces fundamental issues beyond that of money making.

I want to be part of the development of a fairer and more equal society and feel that Socialism is the only means by which that can happen.
