Hi. I am 49; sane, civilized, and cultured yet still interesting, exciting, and even fun. I am aware, and concerned; concerned about injustices, inequalities, environmental issues. I'm here looking for a friend, a nice company, or more but have no particular agendas. I'm a regular guy but neither ordinary, nor mundane. I care about what is happening to us all; to what we're doing with the planet, and to what is being done in our name. I enjoy reading, photography, the woods, botanical gardens, 2nd hand book stores, riding my bike, rain, water, mountains,...and many other places, things, and activities under the sun. I love nature; being surrounded by nature, smelling nature, walking in nature. I think a small wandering seed, or a tiny leaf, or a "simple" form of life is more magnificent, more wonderful than our most sophisticated buildings, machines, inventions.
I think kindness matters; being able to enjoy beauty matters; seeing beauty in other people is important, and seeing others as oneself matters.

Since I was a little kid, I was fond of narrated and written word, and of films, poems, arts, ...; I loved reading Berger, Brecht, Neruda, Rumi, Thoreau, Chekhov, Gogol, Platunov, Borges, Rilke, William C Williams, ...and many others. I like works of artists such as Peter Kennard, Grosz, Nolde, Kollwitz, Otto Dix, Eugene Smith, Walker Evans, Ben Shahn..

I'm looking for someone aware, kind and genuinely caring; someone who gives a damn. Someone who could be a wonderful friend, or even a wonderful lover.

Let me finish with Brecht; he talks about Buddha when he passed by a house that was burning up and the roof was ablaze; he asked people inside to come out but one of them "while the heat was already scorching his eyebrows" asked how it was outside? Was there a shelter? How was the weather...?
And Buddha said: "Whoever does not yet feel such heat in the floor that he'll gladly exchange it for any other,rather than stay, to that man, I have nothing to say."
