Searching for Friends I find socialism appealing because I believe that it tends to have more of the effect on people that it's important to help others as well as oneself. It doesn't take away individualism, but also doesn't push the idea of absolute self-centeredness and greed as capitalism seems to. That and, with free health care and free education, a socialist economy seems to have a better start of taking care of the people as a whole, more than a capitalist economy does. I'm not saying that it's perfect. Nothing is. But, to me, it has many more positives to it than capitalism.
